Mission Of Mayhem

Charity/ New partnerships Highlight Annual Fight Event
Lamar CO, October 17th 2012- The 3rd annual Mayhem fights, revitalized by new leadership and industry direction announced today that it would return to the Lamar Community Events Building November 17th.  New local managing partner Arnulfo Ortega stated, “I am happy to continue bringing quality fight sports entertainment to Lamar and this time with a twist, a portion of proceeds will go to Lamar Community College in the form of a new scholarship titled the “Patty Esquibel Put em up Fund.” The donation, aptly named after Esquibel who has been fighting cancer for a number of years will directly benefit applicants at the institutions discretion. Lamar Community College will also serve as a ticket outlet with a small percentage of sales going to academic programs above and beyond the scholarship contribution.

The highly touted new partnership, is joined by returning supporters in the Colorado Fight League and PCDI which aims to draw and attract tourism dollars to the area via events of interest.  “Prowers County Development Inc. has been a valued longtime partner of this sport and organization and anyone who loves the sport of mixed martial arts coming here needs to voice their appreciation for all they do." Reiterates Ortega.” CFL General Manager Gabe Charboneau added, “The Arkansas Valley, Prowers, Bent and all of Southeastern Colorado have so much to offer in terms of things to see and do, we are proud to have the opportunity to work with them.”

The card is slated to list as many as 12 action packed bouts and will be headlined by current Mayhem 135 pro champ Ryan Axtell, along with Cory Ortiz of Lamar and David Vigil of Las Animas respectively.  Not content to sit idly by and watch others compete; Arnulfo Ortega himself is slated to take on up and coming prospect Tyson Herrera of Montrose for the vacant amateur 135 title.
